In visual navigation and positioning systems, the most commonly used navigation method at home and abroad is based on local vision, which installs car mounted cameras in robots. In this navigation method, the control equipment and sensing devices are loaded on the robot body, and high-level decisions such as image recognition and path planning are completed by the onboard control computer.
The visual navigation and positioning system mainly includes cameras (or CCD image sensors), video signal digitization devices, fast signal processors based on DSP, computers and their peripherals, etc. Many robot systems now use CCD image sensors, whose basic components are a row of silicon imaging elements. A photosensitive element and a charge transfer device are configured on a substrate, and through the sequential transfer of charges, the video signals of multiple pixels are taken out in time and sequence.
